This film is a travelogue on the Yang Tse River through the Three Gorges region in Central China.
China’s greatest engineering project since the Great Wall, the Three Gorges Dam keeps pooling dangerously high levels of pollution and has displaced more than a million people to new re built towns on the hillsides and banks of the River.
The program examines the impacts of the Three Gorges Dam, half way between Yitchang and Chongqing, from a humanitarian, archaeological and ecological point of view.
